Soapboxing

Hello fellow bloggers I felt compelled to actually "blog" a bit today.  As some of you may have noticed, I changed my blog name and address. Why you may ask?  Well the other day while scrapping I had an epiphany.  I wanted to use a particular photo in a layout I was working on but almost decided not to because the picture was not perfect.  What do I mean by that?  The picture was a picture of my granddaughter and there was all sorts of items in the background that I decided did not belong in my picture because the picture isn't "posed" enough.  I typically scrap pictures that have been posed for and have hardly anything but a solid background such as professional photos or photos that I selected with the background I selected.  So I decided that is not what scrapping should be about.  Scrapping is supposed to be about scrapping your everyday life.  We don't walk around the house daily all glammed up waiting for our photo shoot.  Every picture we snap is not going to be the perfect picture, its not going to NOT have that extra body in the background walking by just as we snap our shot.  So I have decided enough is enough.  From this point on my photos will project everyday life and whatever that entails.  So what my granddaughter's head isn't neatly comb, one day she will look back on that photo and laugh and it will be a great memory for us both.  So what if I caught the stranger walking past right as I was about to take my picture.  So what if paper doesn't match my shirt, so what??

If we are going to document life, lets document real life, every day life.  Well I am climbing down off my soapbox now, thanks for listening.

Smooches!
