LGS May Week 5

Hello everyone, it has been way to long since I last posted.  Not sure if many of you know but I experienced the sudden loss of my 26 year old son back at the end of March and things have been kind of hard for me lately.  I have just gotten back the energy to sit back at my craft table.  I find that this helps me with the grieving process.  So with that being said, I am uploading my first layout since I laid my son to rest.  This is for the 5^th week challenge over at Let’s Get Sketchy.  The challenge is to use the moodboard and sketch to create your fabulous layout!  LGS really does have some great sketches so if you don’t play along on the regular please consider.

And here is my interpretation of both.  This is a photo of all three of my grandchildren and was actually taken the day after my son's funeral.  The oldest one(the girl in the back) is son's daughter Amiyah.  I thank God that I have a piece of my son left back here with me.

And a few closups :-)

Well that’s all folks, have a great week!

Design Team Reveals

Happy Monday all!  Its team reveal day for me and today I have 2 great reveals to share with you. First up is the most recent sketch over at LGS.  This week's sketch is by none other than me.

For this one I decided to do something a little bit different so here is what I came up with.

This is my handsome grandson doing what he does best and that is being curios lol.  At first I thought maybe the background was too busy but overall I think I like it!   This layout was created using the Boys Rule Collection by Crate Paper.

Next up is may layout for this week's reveal over at Paper House Productions  featuring the wonderful ColorWays™ Noir Collection. I promise I will eventually use some of the other colors, but I am so in love with the black and white right now! There is so much you can do with it to make it POP! This layout features one of my favorite photos of my two youngest grandkids.

For this layout, I used the Noir Collection along with a sheet of yellow polka dot cardstock to give it a little pop. I added some great embellishments from Paper House to give it some flavor, and this is what I ended up with. It looks great, doesn’t it?

Here is what you need to recreate this fabulous layout:

Paper House ColorWays™ Noir Trimmings Scrapbook Paper (back)
Paper House ColorWays™ Noir Vieux Rose Scrapbook Paper (back)
Paper House Happy Moment Rub-On Transfers
Paper House Birds Cork'd™ Stickers
Paper House Butterflies 3D Stickers
Teresa Collins Memories
Recollections Flowers
Recollections Paper doily
Paint splatter

Well, that’s all for now, folks! Thanks for stopping by, and have a beautiful day!

DT Reveal

Happy Monday all.  I pray everyone had a great Christmas!

I am so behind on my blogging until its just even funny........lol.  Today I am here sharing my latest LGS creation.  This weeks challenge over at LGS is to create a monochromatic layout.  Here is what I came up with.

I love the mono theme but sometimes find them hard to work with but i think this one came out ok.  Thanks for looking and have a wonderful new year!

New Reveal and New Challenge Blog!

Hey all, Happy Monday!  I hope each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.  I know I did!  It was a lot of work preparing to feed my large family but it was worth it!  Now on to today's scrap topic.

Today is reveal day over at Lets Get Sketchy and we have a wonderful sketch up by yours truly:

And here is my interpretation.  I decided to use a round doily as my first layer instead of paper.  Was just playing around a bit with the doily and tape and this is what I came up with. Once I was done, it still looked incomplete so I added a bit of do dads in the upper corner and here is what I came up with.  I know its hard to tell from this photo but the entire page is in 3D, meaning nothing is glued down totally to the page, everything is "lifted" off the page.

Next up we have a wonderful mini challenge from a new challenge blog called Picture This! Each month you will get a new recipe and you are to create your project using those items.  Check out the link below for more detail on the site and the challenge!

Picture This!

Here is my layout from the challenge.  We were to "picture this" 1 photo +Christmas +paper strips).

Well thats all folks, thanks for looking and have a marvelous day!
